What is the history of Manor Park, Ottawa?
Manor Park was built after the Second World War over an earlier development called Rockcliffe Annex, which first appeared in the mid-1920s. It became Ottawa's first post-war subdivision, and the first families moved in in 1947. It was considered "Canada's first completely co-ordinated community".
As of · Updated
Before development, much of the land was slightly marshy, treed ground used for riding trails from nearby Mile Circle and by the RCMP stables, which remain nearby. The Village of Cardinal Glen began to be built by Timberlay Homes in 1988.
The Manor Park community website has a history page.
